The CfA and its partner organisations develop standards, qualifications, and apprenticeship frameworks covering the pan sector areas listed above. The CfA also conducts research, approves qualifications and provides consultancy services within the UK and internationally to businesses and public sector organisations.

Key Skills Extended within Apprenticeship Frameworks

Following the recent announcement by John Hayes, Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning on the future of Key Skills, the CfA can confirm that key skills will continue to be accepted within the Business & Administration, Customer Service, Contact Centre, Marketing & Communication, Management/Team Leading, and Sales & Telesales Apprenticeship Frameworks until 31 March 2011. Functional Skills will also continue to be accepted within the frameworks at the same levels as Key Skills, giving learners and training providers as much choice as possible.

Pan Sector Apprenticeship Frameworks News

A summary of each framework overseen by the CfA and the changes which will take place from 1st August (Business & Administration and Customer Service) or 1st September (Team leading and Management) in England, Northern Ireland and Wales is now available.

Functional skills transition arrangements update

Key Skills will be replaced by Functional Skills from September 2010 in England. QCDA have announced that the exemptions applied to Key Skills will also be applied to Functional Skills.
