Business & Administration Skills Alliance

The Council for Administration is working with Automotive Skills as the Business & Administration Skills Alliance. The partnership is designed to support the SfBN (Skills for Business Network) in helping employers to address the skills needs of those who carry out administrative activities in their sector. The key aim of the alliance is to promote Business & Administration skills and highlight the support available from the CfA to the network.

The CfA can work and benefit the network in a number of areas:

sharing Labour Market Information on administrators in each sector to support in responding to skills shortages and by workig with each SSC to ensure that this information is up to date.

seeking to contribute to the Sector Qualification Strategy to ensure administrators have the qualifications they need to meet the needs of the employers

showing how the New Diploma, Foundation Learning Tier and Foundation Degrees aimed at administrators, together with the Governance Standards can be used to benefit employers in each sector

seeking feedback from SSCs on the Incremental Change programme for the CfA NOS Suites and model for Apprenticeship Reform

evaluating with each SSC ways in which the Self Administration Standards can help every employee in the sector to undertake their own administration

working with each SSC to develop Specialist Standards for those administrators in the sector that require specialist knowledge

developing Self Employment Training Packages that may be of value to the sector for those who run their own businesses

making available the standards for Business & Administration suitable for activities such as recruitment, training and appraisals

sharing information about the CfA's International Benchmarking work, using high flying UK and international organisations to identify best practice for administrators.
