Changes to Pan Sector Apprenticeship certification

Print
In accordance with the Apprenticeship, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 (ASCL Act) enacted on the 6th April 2011, the CFA, as the exclusive issuing authority for pan sector apprenticeship certificates, will reduce certification fees to £25 for English and Welsh apprenticeships.

As directed by the ASCL Act, Apprenticeship Issuing Authorities can only charge a maximum of £25 per Apprenticeship completion certificate from, and including, the 13th April 2011. Therefore, the CFA will be reducing their Apprenticeship certification fees from £30 to £25 per certificate for English and Welsh certificates.

As the designated Issuing Authority for pan sector apprenticeships, all pan sector apprenticeship certificates will now be issued exclusively by the CFA.

Pan sector apprenticeship certificates issued by any other organisation will not comply with the new legislation. The pan sector frameworks affected include:
  • Business & Administration
  • Contact Centre
  • Customer Service
  • Management and Team Leading
  • Marketing
  • Sales & Telesales

These changes will only affect apprentices who complete their frameworks on, or after, 13th April 2011. Apprentices who complete before the 13th April 2011 will still receive the current certificate, regardless of when the certificate request form is submitted.

CFA has made the decision to reduce all certificate prices to £25.00 with immediate effect.

Other changes include the certification process which will result in a new certificate template design. Further instructions and guidance from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) regarding these changes, will be available soon.

Providers can continue to submit applications to the CFA as normal; however certificates will NOT be issued for Apprentices who complete on, or after, the 13th April 2011 until the new certificate template has been issued by the appropriate authority

The CFA expect that certificate issuing will re-commence by the end of April.

If you have any queries in relation to this, please feel free to contact us on 020 7091 9620 to speak to one of the Apprenticeship Team.
