The National Occupational Standards for Agricultural/Horticultural Secretaries & Administrators are currently being reviewed by CfA to ensure they remain up-to-date and fit for purpose by those working in Agricultural/Horticultural business administration.

As the current Business & Administration apprenticeship frameworks were developed in 2005, the CfA is now investigating the impact of these frameworks on employers and learners across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
We need to have the views of employers and other key stakeholders, about the impact of the Business & Administration Apprenticeship on both the organisation and the individual apprentice.
We would like to hear of your opinions and experiences and any barriers that you may have encountered with this. If you haven’t used the Business & Administration Apprenticeship as a training programme before, we would also like to know why this is.
To help us with your feedback, please provide your thoughts, comments and experiences on the Business & Administration Apprenticeship.
The questionnaire takes just 15 minutes to complete and is available by clicking here.
The closing date for responses is 5th March 2010.
Please contact Jonathan Webb directly if you have any questions.
The CfA is pleased to let you know that we are developing new National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Business Continuity Management (BCM).
BCM is the set of principles and processes that organisations use to mitigate the impact of disasters. Above all, Business Continuity deals with the resilience of an organisation and encompasses areas of emergency planning, risk management and disaster recovery. It aims to decrease the threat and impact of events like IT failure, loss of access to business site, pandemics or any other unforeseen event that reduces productivity.
We are designing the NOS for administrators, senior management and directors in small and micro organisations to prepare and equip them with the skills, understanding and competencies needed to plan for business continuity. So far, recent primary research has revealed a number of key competencies, skills and knowledge required for employees working in the area of BCM.
To ensure that we have the full picture of what is needed, to successfully design the BCM NOS, we would appreciate your feedback or any other comments you may have relating to resilience and BCM.
A list of draft competencies for your information can be found in the questionnaire which takes just 15 minutes and is available by clicking here.
The closing date for responses is 5th March 2010.
If you have any other questions relating to this project, please contact Jonathan Webb.
