Putting PLTS into practice
The CfA is holding workshops to support Young Apprenticeship partnerships delivering qualifications in Business & Administration.
The workshops will focus on how trainers and teachers can incorporate PLTS (Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills) in the delivery of the qualifications currently offered on the Young Apprenticeship programme.
The skills framework will be central to the forthcoming Business, Administration & Finance diploma and indeed the whole of 11-19 education in the future.
For CfA guidance on the development of PLTS please click here or contact Richard Thompson on 020 7091 9626.
This week, the Changes to the
Business & Administration events
kicked off in Belfast.
This round of events has been created to inform learning providers and employers about Incremental Change. This is the first year of Incremental Change but it will be an annual feature in the future development of the Business & Administration Standards.
The events have proved to be very popular with all locations now completely sold out. For those who did not manage to secure a place at the events, the changed units will be available to purchase through the CfA Online Shop from the beginning of April.
To register your interest for future events, please contact Sonia Chandnani.
Rob Jefferson, our Employer Relations Manager has this month been talking to employers from across the UK, finding out their thoughts on the changing skills needs in Business & Administration.
A recurring theme, is that an increasing number of staff in a variety of job roles are now doing more and more of their own administration.
"There has been considerable interest in our new Self Administration Standards" said Rob "many managers and other staff now do most of their own administration and these Standards have been developed to help them improve their skills and performance in this area of their work".
If you are an employer and would like to find out more about the Self Administration Standards, please contact Rob Jefferson on 020 7091 9636.
Question of the month
Q: Is the Health & Safety unit in the old (2002) Administration standards acceptable as part of the new (2005) Business & Administration Standards?
A: This is an imported unit so will need to be checked with ENTO but if it is word for word it can usually be used.
