CfA host Leonardo conference

In January, CfA hosted the first 3 day Eurasment conference in London. As lead partner, the CfA is responsible for the overall co-ordination. 28 delegates from eight European countries: France, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Greece, Estonia, Italy and Spain, were present. The delegation also included representatives from a UK Awarding Body and an FE college.

As the promoter of the project, France’s delegation was led by the president of the Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) for France, as well as teachers and representatives from the Ministry of Education. The rest of the group was made up of college principles, teachers and European specialists from various government bodies.

The focus of the Leonardo project is to develop a qualification for European Management Assistants working in Small to Medium Enterprises. Over December and January, all partners conducted a nationwide survey with employers to determine the skills that are in demand and relevant in each of the countries. The results from the evaluated questionnaires formed a starting point from which the main framework was debated, and agreed upon.

The next meeting will be held in Warsaw in May, where talks will focus on the develpment of rules and procedures governing the qualifications in the various vocational training systems. It will also define training units to be adapted to the various vocational training systems, integrating the ECVET principles.
