Management and Leadership Apprenticeships most desired by young people at WorldSkills event
From the 5 – 8 October the CFA took part in a spectacular spectacle of skills from around the world. WorldSkills is the world's largest skills competition and careers event, and this year it took place at the ExCel centre in London. More than 200,000 people from the UK visited the show and competitors from 51 countries competed in 46 skill areas to be the best in their chosen field.
Throughout the event, the CFA were busy promoting the essential skills that are required in Business & Administration, Customer Service, Management, Marketing and Enterprise. It was on our stand that we had the opportunity to teach attendees the valuable role that apprenticeships can play in a range of careers.
CFA achieved this by engaging young people through a mixture of activities. We did this through:
- Planning a music concert through an event management game
- Exploring marketing potential by designing and creating logos
- Creatively thinking about the essential qualities needed within enterprise
The response we received from everyone attending the event was fantastic. It was interesting to see how many people were unaware of the possibilities open to them, and how apprenticeships can provide life-long skills.
Throughout the four day event the CFA held an opportunity for young people to show what type of apprenticeship they were most interested in. We found that Management and Leadership came at the top, closely followed by Business & Administration. The least popular apprenticeship to the WorldSkills attendees was Sales.
For the event this year, the CFA produced a series of posters to promote apprenticeships. Due to the large amount of positive feedback we received, the CFA will be producing copies for sale in the upcoming months. If you could like to purchase posters promoting Customer Service, Enterprise or Business & Administration please don’t hesitate to contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
