The CfA is working in partnership with key stakeholders of the deaf community to identify the core functions of Lipspeakers and develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the lipspeaking profession.
The aims of the NOS are to provide Lipspeakers with a sector-approved set of occupational standards to act as a benchmark for professional lipspeaking services. The NOS will also help define a robust progression route into the lipspeaking profession and to raise the profile of lipspeaking as an available service for lipreaders.
To ensure that NOS are fit for purpose to meet the needs of the deaf community and enable Lipspeakers to deliver a high quality service, the CfA would welcome your feedback on the draft NOS.
For practicing lipspeakers please use this survey option http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/5JR6GLK
For non-practitioners e.g. Lipspeaking service users, employers and other users please use this survey option http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J3MKJ57
The Standards can be viewed by clicking on this link www.cfa.uk.com/research/112-standards.html
The deadline for completion of this questionnaire is Friday, 18 November 2011.
