Job Title: Research and Project Officer
Reports to: Director of Development
Contract: 12 months fixed term contract (including 6 month probationary period)
Salary: £20,000

Job Purpose
To carry out primary and secondary research and support the delivery of standards, qualifications and skills related projects.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Working closely with other teams within the organisation the Research and Projects Officer is responsible for:
- Carrying out research including obtaining, evaluating, recording, integrating, reporting, presenting and disseminating qualitative and quantitative information
- Contributing to the content and presentation of research reports and project work
- Providing support for the effective delivery of development projects, to achieve quality, project and budget standards
- Working with external partners to ensure quality delivery of all development projects, in line with the CfA strategic plan
- Contributing to the identification and establishment of systems and procedures and overseeing the administration of systems and procedures
- Maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders
- Providing excellent customer service and support to all suppliers, partners, key stakeholders and customers
- Planning and organising own work, improving own performance and working as part of a small team
Person Specification
This is a key role requiring enthusiasm and commitment from a highly organised individual who is also a ‘completer-finisher’ capable of seeing tasks through to conclusion. This position demands a high level of attention to detail.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
- Excellent IT skills including word-processing and spreadsheets
- Excellent research skills including analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed organisational skills
- High attention to detail including formatting and proof reading skills
- Ability to prioritise time
- Receptive to innovation and change
- Excellent customer service skills.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge
- Knowledge of Labour Market Information/National Statistics
- Knowledge of UK educational system
- Knowledge of vocational education in the UK
- Research based Masters Degree in Social Sciences, Politics, Educational Policy or similar discipline, or equivalent experience.
