Professional Discussion

Business & Administration made simple through Professional Discussion

As one of the selected, approved centres that offer the 2005 NVQs/SVQs, you will want to make sure your centre is fully-equipped to offer these popular qualifications as time and as cost-efficiently as possible.

If you are one of over 500 centres already using Assessment Toolkits from Helen Stott Solutions, you will already be aware of the quality of these publications and know just how much more effective this innovative approach is than traditional assessment methods.

Following feedback from existing users of the new Assessment Toolkits, Helen Stott Solutions have made innovative changes to the style of the Assessment Toolkits and the content of the Assessor Guide - to make them easier to use. These changes provide an even more comprehensive auditable record for verifiers.

One centre was asked to review the assessment toolkits prior to launch and said:

''..excellent and really lays out, in an easy to understand way, exactly what you recommend and how the candidate will be able to achieve the award - Can't wait to get started!!!.''

Julie Candler, Dumfries & Galloway Council

This unique Assessment system is designed to guide candidates throughout the process of achieving their NVQ by:

  • Providing them with a structured process which they can take ownership of to achieve the core and selected optional units in a series of logical steps

  • Helping them to identify good quality examples which are representative of their competent work in providing a service in business and administration

  • Recommending the precise evidence needed to confirm competent performance to meet

The system is offered in 3 parts:

  • The Assessor Guide, which explains both how to use the System and how to carry out effective and time-efficient professional discussion

  • The Candidate Pack, which provides a wealth of background information and instructions for using the System in the best possible way, plus a variety of records which can be produced to further enhance the process

  • The Assessment Records, which are designed to provide both a structured Evidence Plan so that candidates know exactly what must be provided, demonstrated and explained for each unit plus all the records needed by the assessor to confirm competence and provide feedback
