Diplomas

In February 2005, the Government published its Education & Skills White Paper setting out its vision for the future of 14-19 education. At the heart of this vision lies the creation of New Diplomas in 14 lines of learning, corresponding to key sectors of the economy.

By opting to study a specialised diploma, learners will be following a curriculum more closely aligned to the employment requirements of the sector in question and will be developing exactly the skills required for future employment in the sector or for further and higher education.

By recruiting someone with a diploma, employers will be confident that entrants have the relevant knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to the business.
