Public Services

The CfA is working in partnership with Government Skills, in the development of the Public Services Diploma learning content.

The purpose of the diploma is to:

provide a strong applied learning experience for young people, enabling a mix of general education and applied learning within a coherent and motivating programme

develop young people for entering employment, so they have the essential skills and capabilities to meet employer needs

aid effective transition from college or school to further and higher learning and to adult and working life

What are the benefits of the diplomas?

for employers to meet their future skills needs and increase their productivity through the recruitment of young people who are more effectively prepared for employment and further learning

for young people to experience challenging, relevant and enjoyable programmes and be able to make better informed choices about future career options

to provide a route which will enable a greater proportion of young people to progress to higher education

to help ensure that a greater proportion of young people than at present achieve levels 2 and 3 by age 19
