Diploma
In February 2005, the Government published its Education & Skills White Paper, setting out its vision for the future of 14 - 19 education. At the heart of this vision lay the creation of new diplomas, in fourteen subject areas, corresponding to key sectors of the economy.
Diplomas offer a mix of practical experience and classroom learning, where learners can develop the skills and knowledge required for future employment in the sector or for further and higher education. They are now available in selected schools and colleges.
When recruiting someone with a diploma, employers can be confident that they have the relevant knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to the business
