Qualifications
The CfA both develops and approves an extensive range of qualifications, frameworks and training programmes for the Business, Administration and Governance sector. To ensure they are accurate, up-to-date and targeted to what is required, each offer is developed in consultation with industry specialists and employers and is in line with current National Occupational Standards.
Our vision is to develop qualifications and training courses that ensure employers train their employees to the highest level and empower learners to make a difference in their workplace. Our standards and apprenticeship frameworks, endorsed qualifications and specially commissioned research and consultancy achieve this vision.

NVQ/SVQ
Vocational Qualifications, such as NVQs or SVQs are occupation-based qualifications which are developed in conjunction with the National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships are government-backed training schemes, which provide a structured learning route within a working environment. They provide the ideal solution for learners that want to continue to work whilst they learn a new skill or enhance their existing skills set.
Qualification Strategy
The Business, Administration and Governance (BA&G) qualification strategy (QS) presents the vision and aims that the CfA and partners must achieve to ensure that the BA&G workforce possess the necessary skills and attributes to enable organisations in all sectors to work efficiently.
Young Apprenticeships
The Young Apprenticeship programme is a refreshing way for young people to learn. It's an opportunity to gain a taste of 'real work' whilst continuing with core academic studies and provides a solid qualification at the end of the programme.
Standards
Business, Administration and Governance National Occupational Standards (NOS) are part of the National Standards programme. Designed to meet the needs of both employers and employees, they define the skills, knowledge and understanding needed for an individual to carry out their work effectively.
Diplomas
A set of new Diplomas covering 14 lines of learning have recently been launched that correspond to key sectors of the economy. By opting to study a specialised Diploma, learners will be following a curriculum more closely in line with the employment requirements of that sector and will be developing exactly the skills required for future employment or for use in further and higher education.
When recruiting a new employee with a diploma, employers will be confident that all entrants have the relevant knowledge and skills to make a positive contribution to their business.
Foundation Degrees
Foundation Degrees are a type of degree, developed and delivered by colleges, universities and employers. Combining academic study and work-based learning, graduates of Foundation Degrees will have the skills and knowledge needed for continued success in business.
Flexible study options are available and include full-time, part-time and distance-learning. A typical full-time Foundation Degree takes two years and students with a Foundation Degree can and do usually progress onto to final year of a related Honours Degree.
