About the sector

Industrial or employee relations cover a range of job functions within organisations. In some businesses, trade union representatives play an important role in this area and require a range of skills in order to fulfil their functions.

The CfA will work together with the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to ensure the standards and qualifications for industrial/employee relations professionals reflect industry need and are fit for purpose.

National Occupational Standards

Two suites of standards have been developed to cover Industrial Relations related job functions. To view the standards please visit our Industrial Relations standards page.

Qualifications

A range of vocational qualifications are available within the UK. Further details of these qualifications can be found on the qualifications pages.
