There are two sets of standards aimed at those who want to find out more about running or working in a small business:
- The pre-enterprise standards lay out what you need to know before starting a business
- The understanding enterprise standards aims to illustrate what it takes to run a small business
The Business Enterprise standards are aimed at those starting, running or managing a business. They cover areas such as the essentials of enterprise, winning and keeping business, the business and people, running a business and business direction and improvement.
Business Support
There are six sets of standards available for those working to support businesses. These are:
- Management and Business Consultancy: for management consultants and business advisors
- Introduction to Business Support: for people considering progression towards a career in business support
- Business Support: for those working with small businesses
- Business Link Broker: specifically targeted at business link staff working with small businesses
- Business Link Gateway: specifically targeted at point of contact Business Link staff
- Business Information: for point of contact staff
