There are four sets of standards available:
Marketing
These standards cover the full range of functions carried out by marketing professionals. They are aimed at those employed directly by an organisation or work for an agency or consultancy, in areas such as marketing management, market research, advertising and public-relations.
Sales
These standards are for people working in sales roles or performing sales functions. They cover a full range of functions from developing sales strategy, through managing sales territories and teams to face-to-face and telephone selling.
Social Marketing
These standards cover the performance, knowledge and skills needed by people working in social marketing. They cover similar areas to the marketing standards but are intended for use in a social marketing context.
Marketing and Sales standards for non-professionals
These standards are aimed at those who are not marketing specialists but whose job role involves them in marketing and selling, for example, managers in large organisations or owners/managers of small businesses. The standards cover best practice across marketing and selling activities.
