A Young Apprentice should be treated as an employee whenever they are working in the employers premises.
The partnership is responsible for applying risk control measures and advising parents/guardians of the outcomes. As an employer, the Partnership will work with you to:
| Assess the environment for any possible risks to pupils before and during placements. | |
| Provide appropriate and effective induction, training and supervision arrangements. | |
| Looking after the health, safety and welfare of the pupils once placements are underway. |
Working towards a safer environment
Notify insurer to advise that a pupil/s will be working on your premises, the duration of time they will be there and the type of activities the pupil/s will undertake.
Employers are also responsible as part of the partnership, to adhere to child protection policies and channels of communication. Click below to read about guidance on child protection across the programme. It is important to recognise that employers will be fully supported by the partnership in the implementation and monitoring of all of these areas.
