Preparation for Work

During your first term on the Young Apprenticeship, your Partnership may help you with the following 'Preparation for Work' activities. The following themes and activities should form the basis of this programme. These will provide you with the knowledge and expectation required to take that first step into the world of work.

	Appropriate behaviours and attitudes at work
	Active listening and effective questioning
	Health and Safety
	Discrimination in the workplace
	Self promotion and motivation
	Dress code
	Basic keyboarding and computer operations
	Introduction to office machinery
	Basic office systems
	Independent travel to work
	Employer visits

Once you have completed your ‘Preparation for Work' programme, you will be fully prepared for what to expect in the work place.
